Our Mission

At the Weighbridge we’re committed to providing a wonderful atmosphere, great service and a warm welcome. We’re dedicated to being the place where locals and visitors share the same great food sourced from excellent local suppliers and we aim to deliver this experience to you by providing brilliant and efficient service, exciting dining and exceptional hospitality in a relaxed manner but with very high standards.

Our Name

Our building used to be a Weighbridge! At the turn of the industrial revolution Weighbridges were used in station yards and at railway depots to weigh goods before they were sent onto their destinations. Our building is pretty big as it had to be able to house massive amounts of freight. It was nearly derelict when it was purchased and renovated and now is a fantastic dining space with room for 120 downstairs and 30 on our mezzanine level which houses a beautiful glass piano.

Don't just take our word for it!

I felt that the atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and inviting and the service from the staff was outstanding. If I found myself in the area again, I would certainly wouldn't hesitate to revisit.

Having been to the Weighbridge for many years, I’m always pleased when the food and service are to the usual high standard. Being a vegetarian, it can be difficult to find things that aren’t the standard boring tomato or mushroom pasta etc to eat and it’s great to have such a variety of choices different to the norm here. It’s always a lovely experience to go here and I hope to continue to do so for a long time to come.

An excellent venue for all occasions. No starters but large main meals and sweets. All to a very high standard. A restaurant where you can enjoy an unhurried meal with friends and family and leave feeling well contented. It is a large building but promotes a cosy ambience.
